    The Chamber delegation concluded its visit yesterday to the United Arab Emirates in visiting Dubai Chamber.

    Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed welcomes the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber and discusses the strengthening of the business environment in both countries.

    2058 Saudi companies are operating in the Emirate of Dubai.

     

     

     

    On Monday 12 November 2018, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received the Chairman and Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber in his council at Qasr AlBahr palace in Abu Dhabi.

     

    During the meeting which was attended by a number of officials, His Highness and the delegation of the Chamber, chaired by the President of the Chamber Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, talked about the role and activities of Chambers of Commerce between the two countries in the development of the business environment and the organization of commercial and industrial affairs, as well as the potential and opportunities of cooperation between Asharqia Chamber and its counterparts in the UAE in order to support the tracks of cooperation between the two countries.

    He also praised the role of the business sector in both countries in supporting economic development.

     

    The chairman of the Chamber and members of the Council and its general secretariat supported the encouragement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

    They stressed that what brought together the two countries and the two nations contributed to the strengthening of trade and economic relations.

     

    On behalf of the Board of Directors and its General Secretariat, AlKhalidi thanked the UAE, represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Governor of Dubai.

    He also thanked the UAE officials and the Abu Dhabi and Dubai Chambers of Commerce and Industry for their hospitality, which was not surprising from this generous nation.

     

    Visit the Dubai Chamber

    At the end of the visit to the UAE, the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber visited Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday 13 November 2018, which was the last stop of the visit. The delegation met with the President and members of the Council  of the Chamber and acquainted with the most important investment opportunities in the Emirate of Dubai, in an effort to promote economic integration between the two countries.

    During his speech in the meeting, the chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Al-Khalidi, said that the Kingdom and the UAE are like sisters, as they are linked to complementary relations that reinforced by ties of blood, inheritance and common destiny.

    Both countries adopt wise attitudes, moderate positions, and clear, frank and responsible visions on all issues.

     

    AlKhalidi said that the economic and trade relations have developed greatly between the two brotherly countries, and forming a unified economic fabric, which is the largest in the region, as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded the last ten years to about 637 billion riyals.

    Direct investments between the two countries have also witnessed rapid growth, indicating further integration between the two brotherly countries.

    Al Khalidi continued: "Today, we are witnessing a relentless effort by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to develop and strengthen the ties of complementarity between them."

     

    The two sides announced the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council, which recently adopted a joint strategy for economic, developmental and military integration between the two countries through 44 projects, with the aim of building an exceptional complementarity model between the two countries.

    This is on order to support the process of joint GCC cooperation, while contributing to protecting the gains and interests and creating new opportunities for the two brotherly peoples.

    On the importance of the meeting, he said: "We look forward to a larger and broader partnership between the business sectors in both countries, especially in light of these conditions, which are supported by close relations and stand behind one political will, thus making the horizon unlimited for cooperation and partnerships."

     

    Furtheremore, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Majid bin Saif Al Ghurair, said that the meeting is a step in the right direction towards a comprehensive and integrated dialogue to discuss the challenges of the next phase, and explores the prospects for cooperation between the two chambers for the common interest.

    He praised the real partnership between the Kingdom and the UAE, which was reflected in the adoption of "the Strategy of Determination," which aims to create an exceptional model of integration and cooperation between the two countries through the implementation of joint strategic projects for the happiness and prosperity of the peoples of the two countries.

    The strategy comprises three main axes: the economic axis, the human and cognitive axis, the political, and security and military axis.

     

    Al-Ghurair said that the UAE-Saudi integration leads us to coordinate and employ efforts to contribute to laying solid foundations for future cooperation and partnerships.

    He also praised the ambitious and future vision of the Saudi leadership, "Through our participation in "Future of Investment Forum," and " Davos Desert ", we said that the Forum has contributed to the consolidation of a new phase of global growth and prosperity based on the knowledge economy and future technologies, amid the growing role of the Kingdom in leading this role."

     

    Al-Ghurair said that Dubai Chamber is considered one of the largest chambers of commerce in the world in membership, which has a membership of 220 thousand members, and operates under its umbrella about 30 working groups, and 49 business council.

    It also has 10 overseas offices in a number of promising markets. The Chamber organizes many prestigious international conferences and events that establish the region as a major business destination in the world.

     The most important of which is the series of global business forums focusing on the African continent and Latin markets, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the World Summit on the Islamic Economy, which concluded its fourth session last month.

    Al Ghurair stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and knowledge on best practices.

    He noted that the number of Saudi companies registered in the membership of the Chamber of is about 2058 companies that are operating in Dubai, as Dubai is the first tourist destination for visitors from the Kingdom.

     

    For his part, Secretary-General of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, confirmed the success of the delegation's trip and achieving its objectives on the economic and commercial levels.

     He said that the meetings that held by the Chamber with its counterparts in Abu Dhabi and Dubai discussed many of the Chamber's achievements in contributing to facilitating the tasks on the business sector in the two countries, and also reviewed innovative solutions to the challenges of the future. He pointed out that the Emirate of Dubai, like the rest of the Gulf countries, are characterized by stability.

    According to the Department of Economic Development in Dubai that 88 percent of companies operating in Dubai are optimistic about the stability and growth of sales and revenue in the fourth quarter of this year.

    Al-Wabel said that the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber highlighted-during the program of the visi-the incentives for business growth and trade cooperation, which will accelerate the growth through the available investment opportunities, especially that the UAE, represented by the Emirate of Dubai, hosted in the first half of this year 125 global activities that can reflect economic growth, which can benefit from the development of the business sector in both countries.

     

     At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged honors.

     

    The Chamber's delegation concluded its three-day visit to the UAE yesterday, during which they visited the Louvre museum, which is hosting this year's exhibition «Trade routes in the Arabian Peninsula - masterpieces of the effects of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the ages», Abu Dhabi Chamber, and the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition (ADIPEC), which specializes in the oil and gas industry around the world.​
